DAVENPORT, Iowa - Kimberly Road is back open after being partially blocked from a house fire Wednesday morning, December 14, 2016.
Davenport firefighters say it happened near the intersection of 60th and Kimberly Road, near the Probstei Inn, just before 1:30 a.m. Crews could not knock down the fire immediately due to a mechanical issue with the first fire truck. The firefighters had to wait for back up.
Firefighters say it started in the back of the home and caused damage to both the outside and inside of the structure. Crews say two people and a couple of dogs were inside when the fire broke out, but everyone was able to make it out safely.
