Due to the windchill expected Thursday morning, Dec. 15, local schools have started announcing delays and cancellations. Thursday morning we could see windchills as frigid as -20 degrees.

There’ll be a brief period Friday night where some freezing rain or sleet will mix with the snow mainly near and south of the Quad Cities before changing to all snow on Saturday.  Heavier snow amounts are still expected north of the Quad Cities, says Chief Meteorologist James Zahara.
