More than 100 braved the cold for annual Santa Fun Run

Each of the 125 runners was given a Santa hat to wear, and got to take a photo with the big man himself at the finish line.

MOLINE, Illinois — The below-freezing temps didn't stop runners from donning their Christmas gear for the second annual Santa Fun Run. The race wove through downtown Moline. Each of the 125 runners was given a Santa hat to wear, and got to take a photo with the big man himself at the finish line.

Thirty "santas" and "elves" cheered the racers on throughout the course. The race organizer says it's what this time of year is all about.

"Mostly, it's about having a good time, enjoying the holidays, and spending time with people you care about," said Michael Kinney, race organizer.

Before the adult 5K run, kids put on their holiday gear for a one-mile fun run.
