Islamic Center of the Quad Cities is opening its doors to let people learn about Islam

MOLINE — The Islamic Center of the Quad Cities is hosting an open house in mid-December, with the goal of educating the public about the Muslim faith.

The event takes place on December 10 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the center,  6005 34th Ave, Moline.

Visitors are encouraged to ask questions about the Muslim faith and gain knowledge about the religion.

“I hope that this will provide a better understanding of what Islam is, and what it isn’t.,” said Lyndsey El Bahi, a volunteer of the Islamic Center.”I just want to thank the community that has been reaching out to us to show support. It means so very much to each of us. It has been a hard time lately for many people of different, diverse groups. We all need to stick together.”

Some of the activities planned include:

  • Art and Exhibits
  • Tours of Prayer hall
  • Snacks/Refreshments
  • Informational Booths
  • Henna
