CHICAGO (WGN) -- A neo-Nazi group is claiming responsibility for putting up a poster containing a picture of Adolf Hitler and images of swastikas on the University of Chicago campus.

Few details are available, but university students who spoke with WGN are clearly upset about what happened.

Many were reluctant to discuss the matter, but the image of Adolf Hitler surrounded by swastikas is causing a stir.

Published reports in the Chicago Maroon university newspaper say that university personnel removed the Hitler poster from two locations Monday morning.

A group calling itself the Atomwaffen Division, a neo-Nazi group that has posted similar images on other college campuses, reportedly took credit for what happened on the U of C campus in Hyde Park.

Efforts to reach the neo-Nazi group for comment have been unsuccessful.
