Municipalities across the Quad Cities have declared snow emergencies in the wake of a snowstorm that dumped up to a half-foot or more of wet, sticky snow around the region Sunday, December 4, 2016,
Here is the latest:
Moline – Snow route policy in effect. Police officers are authorized to ticket and tow any vehicle that is parked on the snow routes, if necessary. Police will try to locate owners of vehicles before they are towed. If your car is towed for that reason, you may contact the Moline Police Department at the non-emergency number,
Davenport – No official snow emergency declared. However, Public Work encourages everyone to move vehicles off of the road to allow crews to remove snow as efficiently and safely as possible.
Crews will be removing snow from posted snow routes until routes are clear. After posted snow routes are clear, crews will then move into residential areas. When possible, plowing will be performed on residential roads. If vehicular parking presents a hazard, crews will only make a pass with salt.
Clinton – Snow emergency in effect. Vehicles that have not been removed from the side of streets, are subject to the ‘ticketing and towing process.’
Sterling – Snow emergency in effect. No parking on snow routes until all snow has been removed from the full width of the street. No parking in the central business district or in city parking lots between 1:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.
Galesburg – Snow emergency has been lifted.
