Holiday Train rolls into Davenport

Visitors were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Churches United food pantries.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train rolled into the Quad Cities this weekend. Hundreds were there to welcome the train to Davenport. It arrived at the corner of Western Avenue and West River Drive, decked out in Christmas lights.

For many families, though, the highlight was seeing a stage fold down from the train cars, where a pair of Canadian musicians played a Christmas concert.

Visitors were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Churches United food pantries. Canadian Pacific also donated $8,000 to the cause.
