Christmas in LeClaire boosts sales for small businesses.

LECLAIRE, Iowa - In LeClaire, Iowa you can see stores decked out for the holidays, one story even turned into Whoville for Christmas.

"A lot of decorations are set up that way and the Grinch will be here tomorrow," said Cole Devrieze, Owner of Unique Creations & Sassy Pants Boutique.

Cole and his wife Rhonda are hoping to see more people at the shop for Christmas in LeClaire.

"A lot of sales that's the main thing, to get more sales, we did have a great weekend last weekend and we're just hoping to have a bigger or better one," said Devrieze.

For small businesses in LeClaire, the 'Christmas in LeClaire' event is one of the busiest weekends.

"People are really coming out to shop and there's crafts and cookie walks and things so they're pretty serious about their shopping," said Cindy Bruhn, LeClaire tourism manager.

LeClaire added 13 new small businesses this year and one of those shops rolled out a red carpet for the big weekend.

Owners of Letty's Home Decor are excited about participating in their first Christmas in LeClaire.

"We're expecting a lot of people, the great thing about LeClaire is that there's always all kinds of events going on," said Bradd Stuart, Letty's Home Decor.

Both businesses have already seen a lot of people come through their doors.
