BETTENDORF, Iowa — After a few stops and starts, Bettendorf’s new outdoor ice rink located at Middle Road and 23rd Street is just about ready to open.

The new new Frozen Landing Family Ice Rink has been in the works since October, but the planned pre-Thanksgiving opening was delayed due to a bad chiller. Repairs have been made, however, and a ribbon cutting for the new rink is now scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 5:00 p.m.

The ice rink used to sit in downtown Moline and Bettendorf bought the rink and all it’s equipment for $280,000, according to city officials.

The skating rink is open to all ages and ability levels. There is no charge to skate. Skate rental is $2.00 for both children and adults. Concessions will be available for purchase. No hockey is allowed on the rink.

Hours of operation (weather permitting) are:
Monday thru Thursday, Noon – 9:00 p.m.
Friday, Noon – 10:00 p.m.
Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Sunday, Noon – 6:00 p.m.
