DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Quad Cities River Bandits have announced that a student from St. Ambrose University will be awarded the third yearly scholarship as part of the Bandit Scholars Program.

St. Ambrose joins Augustana and Western Illinois University in the program. The scholarships will be awarded to rising juniors during the 2017 River Bandits season and will pay for the recipients’ junior year of school.

The president of St. Ambrose University was pleased to be able to provide this opportunity each year to their students.

“We’re delighted to be part of this Bandits Scholar Program, the scholarship obviously provides the ability for our students better to afford a quality education,” said Sister Joan Lescinski, president of St. Ambrose.

“This is a major compliment to the River Bandits, to be able to associate and partner with St. Ambrose University, such a fine institution,” said Dave Heller, owner of the River Bandits.

The Bandit Scholars Program now has a combined value of $60,000 for three scholarship recipients.

The recipients will also get to work a paid internship with the River Bandits.
