5 teens arrests after spree of BB gun vandalism in Iowa City

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Police say five teenagers caused several thousand dollars of damage to homes and vehicles in parts of Iowa City.

At least 35 damage reports in eastern Iowa City were received over two days, the Iowa City Press-Citizen reports.

Police found a vehicle matching the suspect description on Saturday,Nov. 19, with five teenagers inside. The teens confessed after officers found BB guns and BBs all over the floor of the vehicle.

The five suspects were released to their parents, but they will face charges of carrying weapons. And more charges could be added after the damage is assessed.
