Tom Pospisil  from Eriksen Chevrolet was on-hand to present a check for $480 for the October Three Degree Guarantee to the Friends Of Hauberg Civic Center Foundation.

Accepting the check was Deb Kuntzi from the Friends Of Hauberg Civic Center Foundation.

The Friends of Hauberg Civic Center Foundation will receive $20 from Eriksen Chevrolet for each day of the month that the actual temperature is within three degrees of the forecasted high temperature. Each night, Storm Team 8 will predict the next day’s high temperature. The forecasted temperatures are compared to the actual temperatures recorded by the National Weather Service.

In 1911, John Hauberg and Susanne Denkmann built their prairie style home on a 10-acre hilltop ground in Rock Island. After their parent’s passing in 1956, John and Susanne’s children donated the home to the City of Rock Island to be used as a civic center. The Friends of Hauberg Civic Center Foundation gives civic groups an attractive space to meet at a low cost. Exposure of the foundation increases the public awareness and appreciation of the property.
