BURLINGTON, Iowa — An 18-year-old man is being accused of trying to entice a minor, someone he thought was 12, into meeting up to engage in sexual acts.
Detectives with the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office arrested Codey Marut on Wednesday afternoon, November 9, 2016.
“This arrest was the result of an investigation involving Marut’s electronic communication with who he believed to be a 12 year old girl, and his arrangement to meet her and perform sexual acts,” read the statement.
Marut was charged with enticing a minor, according to the statement. He was also charged with an outstanding warrant for dissemination of obscene material to a minor from a separate incident.
