DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad says President-elect Donald Trump essentially pulled off a miracle to win the White House. He also tried to calm some of the political rumors.

Speculation has been flying about whether Branstad could one day be a part of Trump's team. It started Sunday, when Trump said he would be a prime candidate to take care of China. Many took that to mean that Trump wants Branstad to be his U.S. Ambassador to China.

But the governor says he hasn't been asked, and he doesn't want to be.

Branstad says he has no interest in leaving Iowa, and wishes to continue serving Iowans, which also rules out Branstad becoming Trump's Secretary of Agriculture.
