ERIE, Illinois — An early morning water main break that forced the closure of Erie schools Monday, Nov. 7 has led to a boil order being issued for the entire village.
Although the break has been repaired and water service restored, village officials are urging all water used for drinking or cooking be boiled for at least five minutes for the next 24 hours. Notices about the boil order will be posted at all village offices, banks and local businesses.
