EAST MOLINE, Illinois - While millions are celebrating in Chicago, one of the Cubs oldest fans is celebrating here in the Quad Cities.

At the Park Vista retirement home in East Moline, there's something to celebrate.

The Cubs winning the World Series for the first time in more than 100 years and no one could be happier than cubs fan Ray Styrlund. He's been waiting 105 years to see the Cubs win a World Series.

"I was happy because I have been waiting a long time," said Styrlund.

He tuned into the radio to listen to game seven, finally giving up and going to bed after the Cubs and Indians tied in the eighth inning.

"When they tied it up I though oh here we go another 100 years," said Styrlund.

He woke up the next morning with the good news. The championship win is giving Stylrund something he's never had, bragging rights. He's only one of two Cubs fans in his family, the rest are Cardinals fans.

"Ray and I are the only cubs fans we`ve had to put with the cardinals all these years, all these years," said Lynn Bjork, Styrlund's relative.

When Bjork asks Styrlund if he's excited to watch the Cubs next year he responded, "Next year I don`t know if I`ll be here next year."

However, he says if he is still here, he says of course he'll watch the Cubs.
