CHICAGO, Illinois -- A man says he is "lucky to be alive" after bullets were fired into his vehicle on the Eisenhower Expressway on Halloween night.

The man was heading home Monday, October 31, 2016, when he noticed a white SUV driving recklessly near him, according to a report by WGN.  Then the SUV pulled up alongside him.

"He rolled down the window and shined a light, and the next thing I know, there was two shots fired," he said to WGN.

One bullet was shot into his driver's side window.  The other bullet was shot into the door, went through and into the seat, according to the report. Neither bullet hit the driver.

"I’m lucky to be alive," he said. "I’m lucky to be here today."

His girlfriend, who was driving behind him, saw the whole thing. Pieces of broken glass even hit her vehicle, according to the report.

There have been multiple shootings of this nature on Chicago-area expressways, according to previous reports.  WGN reported that the month of October alone saw four expressway shootings, according to state police.
