IOWA – Saturday, Oct. 29, is the last day for Iowans to register online to vote in the election Tuesday, Nov. 8. But voters beware, the website is loading slowly, and – as WQAD as experienced – can take up to five minutes to load if you’re using Google Chrome.

The website will reroute you to the Iowa DOT Online Services page, where you’ll enter your driver’s license or state ID number. On Saturday morning as of 11:30 a.m., WQAD could not get the following page to load on Google Chrome or Safari.

We reached out to the Iowa Secretary of State’s office and the Iowa DOT offices, but both are closed for the weekend.

One WQAD viewer reached out and said they were able to complete process after dozens of attempts.
