Authorities seek info on Waterloo Work Release Facility escapee

A man serving time in a work-release facility did not return from work and has been placed on escape status.

WATERLOO, Iowa — A man serving time in a work-release facility did not return from work and has been placed on escape status.

Armando Adame III, age 25, had been at the Waterloo Work Release Facility since June 21, 2016, according to a statement from the Department of Corrections.  After being convicted of first degree burglary and a firearm possession, Adame started serving a 25-year sentence in April of 2008.

Adame escaped on Thursday, October 27, 2016, according to the statement.  Online records show his scheduled release date was November 29, 2019.

Authorities describe Adame as being a white man with black hair and brown eyes, standing six-feet tall, and weighing 177 pounds.  He has tattoos on his back, his calves, chest, left hand and left wrist.  He has scars on his left forearm, right hand, neck, and on both shoulders.
