Man suffers gunshot wound during evening of multiple shots fired reports in Davenport

A man suffered a gunshot wound during an evening riddled with shots fired reports Wednesday, October 12, 2016.

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- A man suffered a gunshot wound during an evening riddled with shots fired reports Wednesday, October 12, 2016.

The first bout of gunfire was heard around 9:50 p.m., and officers were called to the 2300 block of Fulton Avenue, according to a statement from the Davenport Police Department.  Investigators found shell casings and discovered that a vehicle had been struck.

While they were still at the scene, police were told that a man who had suffered a gunshot wound had been admitted to an area hospital, the statement said.  The injured man had non-life-threatening injuries.  Police were trying to figure out if he was involved in the incident at Fulton Avenue.

A little over an hour later, police said they were called to another report of gunfire, this time in the 1300 block of East 38th Street.

"Preliminary investigation indicates there was a group of subjects arguing prior to the shots being fired," read the statement.

No damage or injuries were reported there.

Additionally, multiple cars were struck by bullets in the Village of East Davenport's northwest corner at some point during the evening.
