BURLINGTON — The death of a 32-year-old Burlington man on Friday is now being investigated as a homicide.
Police responded to a home in the 200 block of South 8th Street last Friday shortly before 5 p.m. after receiving a call about a possibly deceased person. Officers found the body of Julian D. Menke, 32, and determined the death was suspicious in nature. Evidence was gathered and police enlisted the help of the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation crime lab.
Tuesday, Burlington Police said the evidence – along with multiple interviews conducted since Friday – led to the determination the death was a homicide. An autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of death.
