Davenport Police officers feasted on a nice, warm breakfast Monday morning courtesy of a group of community members wanting to say thanks.

The Rotary Club of Davenport brought in a meal for the officers just getting off work and those just arriving for their shifts. It's the groups way of honoring the work they put in to protect the community, and reach out to improve the relationships officers have with everyone they serve.

"They go through some tough times, all the calls that they get at all hours of the day. We want to recognize that community leaders are behind them, they support them and appreciate all that they're doing," Rotary Club of Davenport member Gary Loss said.

Rotary members also took the time this morning to talk with officers about their concerns in the community, but also share their appreciation for all their hard work.
