How the Quad Cities helps you get rid of yard waste for free

Here’s what Quad Citizens need to know about yard waste pickup in their town.

What you need to know about free yard waste pickup in your city:

Bettendorf

(Free collection between October 17th – December 2nd)

  • Bundled tree trimmings and branches will be picked up
  • Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves, and garden waste
  • No Yard Waste stickers are required
  • Set out on the curb on your regular trash collection day

Davenport

(Free yard waste pickup lasts for six weeks starting Monday, October 17th)

  • Set materials for curbside collection out by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day.  Do not set out materials before 7 p.m. the night before
  • Yard waste must be placed in a Kraft ply bag
  • No stickers required

Moline

(No stickers required from October 10th – December 9th)

  • Brush trimmings must be: tied into bundles with individual limbs being no more than 4 feet in length and no more than 4 inches in diameter, and the bundles cannot be more than 1 foot in diameter
  • Brush is collected on the same day as regular garbage collection
  • Stack piles neatly, not under any low wires or next to trees or poles

East Moline

Free yard waste bags are given out Monday through Friday in October.  Bags can be picked up from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at City Hall – 915 16th Avenue, and 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at City Annex – 912 16th Avenue.
