Cordova Fire Department holds annual open house for National Fire Safety Week

CORDOVA, Illinois-- The Cordova Firefighter's Association held their annual Fire Safety Open House the local fire department, Saturday, October 8.

The event featured a fire extinguisher training for residents as well as a training demonstration, as a way to keep fire safety on people's minds,.

"(Fire safety) not something that you even think about as far as in your house and around your house, you just kind of take things for granted that nothing bad is going to happen and that's the end of it," says Cordova's Fire Lieutenant, Topher Miller.

National Fire Safety Week begins Sunday, October 9.
