State Troopers: Check your speeds around farm vehicles, equipment

In 2014, more than 150 drivers were involved in crashes with farm equipment. Officers say speed is the number one reason for the crashes.

DES MOINES, Iowa — Dry weather is just what farmers need to finish off the harvest season in the Quad City area. Iowa State Patrol say that also means lots of extra traffic on rural roads.

Trooper John Farley says farm vehicles may be traveling 20 -25 miles per hour, tops.

Troopers also warn drivers to watch out for tall corn, which can create blind spots at rural intersection.
