FORT MADISON, Iowa --An incident between two offenders at the Iowa State Penitentiary has prompted inmates to be placed on restricted movement.
The incident happened in the Dining Hall on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, according to a statement from the Department of Corrections.
A responding officer and one of the offenders were injured. They were both taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The visiting room will be closed until further notice.
