ROCK ISLAND, Illinois-- Public Safety crews are looking for a person, dressed as a clown on Augustana College campus.
Around midnight until 2:45 am Tuesday, October 4, multiple students reported seeing a clown walkin around campus and banging on the outside windows of the first floor at Erickson Hall and Westerlin Residence Center.
This is just one of many clown incidents reported around the country.
"It definitely could be a copy cat here we're not really sure whose doing it or what's happening but we do know that we are actively looking for somebody who might be doing this," say Sam Schlouch, public information officer at Augustana.
This is the second clown incident in Rock Island in less than a week.
A volunteer at Skellington Manor was dressed in his clown uniform walking in the District, when a group of people passing by called the police.
No arrests were made.
The Rock Island Police is working with Augustana Campus Safety to investigate the incident.
Volunteers from Skellington Manor say the two clown sightings are not related.
