GALESBURG, Illinois - The Galesburg City Council voted against moving forward with plans to re-purpose the old National Guard Armory for now.

Aldermen Peter Schwartzman says there are still options about fixing parts of it in the future.

City leaders had been looking at several different options for the building that included a recreation center and event hall.

Several votes have been tabled over the past few months.

The 100 year old armory building has sat empty for nearly a decade.
