Two men arrested after report of gunshot and fight in Davenport neighborhood

DAVENPORT, Iowa — The report of a disturbance and gunfire led authorities to a neighborhood where two people were fighting, police said.

Police were called to the scene in the 700 block of East 14th Street, just before 11 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2016.  Two 22-year-old Davenport men were arrested, both charged with interference as well as other offenses, according to a statement from the Davenport Police Department.

One of the men involved in the fight was hurt, police said.  There was no word on what type of injury the person sustained.

Investigators found a shell casing in the area, according to the police statement.

Nicolas Banks and William Smith, Jr. were taken into custody and were booked into the Scott County Jail, police said.  One hour after being booked in, Banks was released on bond.
