MOLINE, Illinois — A Quad City teen accomplished a life-long dream on Sunday, Sept. 24, as she crossed the finish line of the Quad Cities Marathon 5k.

Jenna Griffin, 18, was born with cerebral palsy. One year ago, just walking a few steps was a challenge, but she's put in a lot of work with a physical therapist since then and on Sunday, Jenna completed an entire 5k.

"She did amazing. She had some nerves at the end about finishing by herself, but I said, 'You can do it,' and we finished strong, didn't we?," said Katie Powers, Jenna's physical therapist. "She's a trooper."

Jenna had lots of cheerleaders along the way and after finishing the race, she was all smiles as she received her medal at the finish line.
