ROCK ISLAND, Illinois — Parents have the opportunity to get their children registered with the Illinois Children Protection Program.
The IL Chip program is a way to find your child if he or she ever became lost or abducted. The program provides information to help authorities to use to recover your child in less time.
Registration requires a color photo, fingerprints, a recorded interview, and a DNA sample taken (if desired by the parents); registration is free.
It only takes ten minutes and most of the information is on a CD to take home with you, or on vacation.
“It helps to make the searches more effective,” says Grace Shirk, supervisor of the South Rock Island Township. “Why not be prepared?”
Registration for the IL Children Protection Program will take place at South Rock Island Township 1019 27th Ave, and goes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
If you are interested in this program and would like to know more please call Grace Shirk at (309) 788-0496.
You can even find this event on Facebook.
