DAVENPORT — A man found guilty of being a felon in possession of a gun last May has been sentenced to eight years in prison and three years of supervised release in federal court Friday.
Xavier E. Buckner, 27, was pulled over after a police pursuit in August, 2015 and police discovered he had a loaded .380 caliber handgun on him. Shell casings recovered from the scene of a shooting on W. 14th Street were matched to Buckner’s gun.
Buckner has prior felony convictions for reckless use of a firearm in 2006 and third degree burglary in 2008.
