Westbound Interstate 88 near Dixon, Illinois, was shut down due to an accident.
On Sunday, September 11, 2016, Dixon Police said there had been an injury accident involving a SUV and semi truck. Around 7:40 p.m., a medical helicopter was called to the scene.
Police advised drivers to find an alternative route. Monday morning though, Dixon Police officers confirmed the interstate was back open.
