CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — Linn County supervisors are scheduled to take their second vote Wednesday on increasing the county’s minimum wage.

The supervisors voted Aug. 31 to raise the county rate to $8.25 an hour on Jan. 1. The wage would increase by a dollar in January 2018 and another dollar in January 2019, when it would remain at $10.25 an hour. The current county, state and national rate is $7.25 an hour.

Cedar Rapids television station KCRG reports that the second vote had been set for Tuesday, but supervisors held off for a day so some ordinance language could be reworked.

If the measure were to be approved Wednesday, a third and final vote would be held Monday.
