GALESBURG, Illinois — An early morning fire Wednesday at the Boys and Girls Club of Knox County was intentionally set, Galesburg police say.

Investigators from the police department and fire department, as well as from the Illinois State Fire Marshal's office have been on the scene collecting evidence throughout the day.

The fire department responded to the fire around 2:28 a.m. Thursday. Flames were coming out of the building's east side windows and from its eaves. Firefighters had to cut a hole in the roof to fight the fire. There was no one in the building - which was built in the 1940s - and no one was injured.
