BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) — A Burlington man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for the April 2015 killing of a 28-year-old man following an argument over a dice game.
Maurice Green, 45, was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter, burglary and intimidation of a witness with a weapon, the Hawk Eye reports.
Prosecutors say Green killed Matthew Banks, who was found inside his home. Authorities say the shooting stemmed from a dispute at a dice game earlier at Green’s home. Green was later captured in Galesburg, Illinois.
