SUFFOLK, Va. – He’s already achieved internet stardom thanks to YouTube and Reddit, now Michigan airport K-9 Piper has crossed off another achievement, completing his first skydive.

In a Facebook post, Piper’s owner Brian Edwards explained that the jump was part of a charity event with Spike’s K9 Fund, who had donated an aerial vest to the Cherry Capitol Airport. The founder, Jimmy Hatch, took Piper on the skydive adventure in Suffolk, Virginia this past weekend.

“As you can see, Piper is a BOSS. He can’t wait to go again!” Edwards wrote.

The Facebook video has been viewed more than 4,000 times since it was posted on August 31.

Piper, a 7-year-old border collie, works at the Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City. Piper’s job at the airport is chasing birds off the runways, primarily geese, ducks and owls. He officially started working at the airport in January 2015.

Piper was called the “coolest dog ever” after a photo of him wearing goggles in front of a Coast Guard helicopter went viral last winter.  Four million people have clicked on the video of Piper.

Edwards, the airport operations supervisor, adopted Piper back in 2012.

Piper is chronicled in photos and video on the Cherry Capital Airport Instagram page and online here.
