DAVENPORT, Iowa — Two arrests were made after Davenport police responded to a call about several people causing a disturbance with baseball bats and other weapons.

Police were called to the area of Lincoln and Redwood avenues at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31 and made two arrests.

Juan Pizano, 19, of Davenport was arrested and charged with being a felon in possession with a firearm, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, carrying weapons, going armed with intent and rioting. Police say Pizano went to the location with several friends, most of whom were carrying baseball bats and other weapons. The group was approaching a second group that was also similarly armed.

After a short altercation, Pizano and his friends left in a four-door Cadillac Deville that had no plates. An officer in a marked police car tried to stop the vehicle, but the passengers fled. Pizano left his wallet and ID in a seat of the vehicle and a gun was found on the floor board in plain view, says the criminal complaint.

Police also arrested an unnamed 16-year-old for rioting and possession of a controlled substance.

Pizano is held in the Scott County Jail on a $20,000 bond.

Anyone with more information regarding this incident is encouraged to call the Davenport Police Department at 563-326-6125.
