DAVENPORT, Iowa — A Hy-Vee employee was in for a surprise when he was awarded the company's most prestigious honor. Brett Kraemer is the Meat Market Manager at the store on West Kimberly Road in Davenport.
His coworkers and family members were there when he received the Legendary Customer Service Award. Each year, just 11 winners are selected from more than 82,000 Hy-Vee employees.
"It's something I never knew I would, could achieve, that's for sure. You know, and it means everything. It's the top award you can get," said Kraemer.
Kraemer has worked at Hy-Vee for 35 years and says his favorite part of the job is talking with customers. His picture will now go on the side of Hy-Vee trucks. He says he plans to work for a few more years before hopefully retiring to Florida.
