Sterling juvenile says 3 men tried to get him into a van

A juvenile says three men in a van asked him to get into the vehicle when he was stopped at an intersection.

STERLING, Illinois — A juvenile says three men in a van asked him to get into the vehicle when he was stopped at an intersection.

Police say it happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at the intersection of Dillon Avenue and W. Third Street. A white box style van stopped and asked him to get in, but the juvenile ran and saw the vehicle traveling eastbound on W. Third Street, says the criminal complaint.

The victim described the driver and passengers as in their mid-20’s. The driver was a white male with dark hair and wearing a black t-shirt, a passenger was a while male with dark hair wearing a white t-shirt, and the third passenger was a black male wearing a green t-shirt.
