Police say Iowa man broke bones of his 3-week-old baby
BLUE GRASS, Iowa (AP) — Authorities have arrested and charged a Blue Grass man they say broke the bones of his 3-week-old baby.
Blue Grass Police say 30-year-old Donald Scott Oien was booked into the Scott County Jail about 11 a.m. Monday and was released Tuesday morning after posting a $10,000 bond. He has been charged with child endangerment resulting in serious injury, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 2.
Police launched an investigation in April, when doctors determined that the baby had suffered from multiple broken bones, including a broken arm.
A message left with Oien’s attorney on Wednesday was not immediately returned.
