MOLINE, Illinois -- A portion of 16th Street was blocked off to traffic where a utility pole had been struck near Trevor True Value.

The roadway was blocked Wednesday morning, August 24, 2016, forcing traffic to route through an adjacent neighborhood to get past the blockage.

A utility pole on the east side of the roadway was damaged and a truck was being towed away from the scene early in the morning.  A utility vehicle was on site around 6:30 a.m.

MidAmerican Energy was not reporting any related outages.

The Moline Police Department was on scene, but would not confirm why the roadway was closed.  There was no time estimated when the roadway would reopen.
