Second shooting in two weeks in Moline’s Floreciente neighborhood

MOLINE -- A man was shot in Moline late Monday night and transported to the hospital.

According to police, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 300 block of 5th Avenue at 11:45 p.m. Monday. The discovered a 30-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the alley. The victim's condition is unknown at this time, according to police.

Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at (309)762-9500.

This is the second shooting in the same general area in the past two weeks. On Aug. 10, officers found a man with a gunshot wound in a car in the 400 block of Railroad Ave., blocks from where the latest shooting occurred.  The next day, police arrested Kelvin Gathings, 26, in connection with that shooting.
