Narcotics investigation leads to arrests in Burlington

BURLINGTON — Four Burlington area residents face a litany of charges stemming from a narcotics investigation that culminated in a June 3 undercover buy, Burlington Police announced today in a media release.

Arrested were Braedon S. Yaley, 18; Deangelo D. Haley, 21; Mynisha D. Shawn Pearson, 18 and Thaddeus R. Purnell, 18.

According to police, detectives set up a controlled purchase of marijuana at Braedon Yaley’s residence in the 700 block of Spruce Street. Officers had a search warrant and discovered marijuana, packaging materials, scales and cash in the home. Breaedon Yaley was charged with delivery of a controlled substance for the drugs and packaging materials.

While inside, officers also recognized Deangelo Haley, who was wanted on two outstanding warrants. He was arrested and charged with probation violation, contempt of court and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Pearson was charged with child endangerment. Her two children – a 20-month-old and an 8-month-old, were placed with the Department of Human Services.

As detectives were investigating, they observed Purnell approach the residence. Officers recognized him as having an outstanding warrant for 3rd degree sexual abuse. When he was searched, detectives found packaged marijuana in his backpack. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

All three suspects are in the Des Moines County Jail.
