Scott County Attorney to evaluate officer-involved shooting case

“We want to make sure it’s a fair and impartial investigation,” said Scott County Sheriff Dennis Conard.

DAVENPORT -- The Scott County Sheriff's Department has wrapped up its investigation into a July 19 officer-involved shooting and sent its findings to the Scott County Attorney's office for evaluation.

Two of the officers involved in the incident remain on administrative leave. Rodricco Parks, Jr., 19, who was shot after allegedly ramming a car into a Davenport Police squad car, remains at large with a warrant out for his arrest.

"We're waiting for (Mike Walton) to do his final analysis and see if there's any more investigating that he needs us to complete before he renders his opinion," said Sheriff Dennis Conard.

Parks was shot by Davenport officers after he rammed into a squad car off Rockingham Road.

He was able to drive off a curb and flee the scene.

Two Davenport Police officers remain on administrative leave during the investigation.

"We want to make sure that it's a fair and impartial investigation," Sheriff Conard said.  "That all the facts are brought forth."

State authorities say that Parks is wanted for a probation violation.

"We want the public to know that whatever the investigation turns up will be presented to the public," Sheriff Conard concluded.
