COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (AP) — An investigation has begun into the death of a worker at the Tyson Foods plant in Columbus Junction.

The death occurred Thursday, the Muscatine Journal reports.

Tyson Foods spokeswoman Caroline Ahn released a statement Friday saying the death was not that of a Tyson employee, but a janitor employed by an outside contractor hired by the Louisa County pork plant. The company says the janitor was found unresponsive in a locker room at the plant Thursday morning. An ambulance was called, but the man died on the way to the hospital.

Neither the man’s name nor details about how he died have been released.
