RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — And the gold medal for dating goes to — Tinder.
Some Olympians are looking for action away from the competition and the Tinder app is proving popular. A Tinder spokeswoman says dating matches in the Olympic Village increased by 129 percent over the weekend. Profiles from athletes have updates like “Got plenty of time to kill,” or “Looking for fun in Rio!”
Olympic organizers want those hookups to stay safe. Some 450,000 condoms have been ordered for the Olympic Village.
