DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that killed one and injured two others at a Des Moines bar.

Devin Carter, 26, of Des Moines was charged Saturday with first-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder and weapons charges, the Des Moines Register reports.

Authorities say William Dawson Sr., 40, died after he was shot in the back of the head and in the leg in the parking lot of Johnny Mac’s Bar and Grill around 1:15 a.m. Saturday, August 6. Two other victims, William Dawson Jr., 20, and Carley Toomey, 20, remain hospitalized and are expected to survive.

Authorities say the Dawsons are father and son, and Toomey is the younger Dawson’s girlfriend. The couple has a daughter.
