In February 2016, Donald Trump finished in second place in the Iowa Caucus. Six months later, the now-Republican nominee for president says he still isn't happy with the Caucus, but it's not because he lost.

He made the comments at a campaign stop in Des Moines, which was the epicenter of the Caucus on February 1st. Nearly 1,000 Trump supporters packed the Iowa Events Center to hear the candidate speak.

Trump told them, "I don't love the caucus system, by the way, I could do without it. I like to vote! I like it when you walk in and vote and leave."

Voting preferences aside, Trump promised that, if elected president, he'd make sure Iowa keeps its "First in the Nation" status in 2020.

He explained, "You're going to stay right where you are. Iowa is an amazing place. You're going to keep your place in history. You're going to be that first state."

At the rally, Trump attacked Hillary Clinton, too, calling her a "pathological liar." He also said the former Secretary of State's legacy is "death, destruction, chaos, and weakness," repeatedly labeling Clinton a "weak person."

Trump's running mate Mike Pence also joined him at the rally. And while the pair received a warm welcome indoors, outside was a different story. Protesters gathered to rally against Trump, urging voters to say "no" to racism and hate this November.

Trump's stop in Iowa was quick. Shortly after he spoke, his plane took off to Green Bay, Wisconsin, where he endorsed Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and current Arizona Senator (and former Republican nominee) John McCain.
