DAVENPORT, Iowa — Some students from the QC Rock Academy in Davenport really wanted to meet the rock band KISS while they're in town. They put together a video asking to meet the legendary rock band. Their Facebook page says the video was even shared by Gene Simmons and his wife Shannon Tweed.
After seeing the video, the band sent them tickets to show at the iWireless Center on Friday, August 5. But WQAD News 8's Megan Noe had one more surprise to share with the group: they're getting their wish and get to meet KISS.
"This is awesome. KISS is iconic and if I could have met a band like this at their age, I would be flipping out right now," said Greg Hipskind, QC Rock Academy director.
KISS has released 44 albums and sold more than 100 million albums worldwide.
There are still tickets available for Friday's concert, ranging from $32 on up to $166 for a single ticket. CLICK HERE to for more ticket information.
The academy students have also been invited behind the stage at the Mississippi Valley Fair to meet members of the band 3 Doors Down.
